Jane Ann (Dabb) Smith of Knoxville, Iowa passed away Friday, October 13, 2017, at her residence in Knoxville, Iowa.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at the Christ Church in Knoxville, IA. Jane’s family will be greeting friends during this time
Jane was born on November 13, 1938, the daughter of William and Mildred (Wilson) Dabb. She grew up in Knoxville, Iowa, and graduated from Knoxville High School.
In 1955, Jane was united in marriage to Calvin Smith. To this union four children were born; Rick, Kimberly, Jan, and William. Jane and Calvin celebrated 62 wonderful years of marriage. They made many wonderful memories with their family and traveled together.
Jane also enjoyed the time she spent with her friends at her coffee social group.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Calvin Smith; four children, Rick (Patsy) Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, Kimberly (Gale) Herring of Johnston, Jan (Jeff) Petty of rural Knoxville, and William Smith of Knoxville.
She is also survived by three grandchildren; Ethan Senn, Elie Petty, and Kerri (Justin) Muir; and two great-grandchildren; Cade and Colby Muir.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred Dabb; two siblings, Ted Dabb and William “Billy Ray” Dabb; and one grandson, Harrison Lee Petty.
Memorials in Jane’s memory may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
