William Webb Clarke, age 91, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at his home in Knoxville.

Visitation for William will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021, from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. with his family present to greet friends and relatives at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville.

A memorial service will be held at Community of Christ Church of Knoxville on Monday, November 1st, at 10:30 A.M.

Following services, burial military honors will be held at the Marysville Cemetery in Marysville, Iowa. A luncheon will be held at the Church, following burial services.

William was born on September 2, 1930, in Spencer, Iowa, to Irl Hicks and Lola Marie (Webb) Clarke, Sr. He lived for many years in Flagler and attended South Flager School, and graduated with Class of 1950 at the Knoxville High School.

After high school, William served in the Iowa Army National Guard from July 25, 1949, to July 24, 1952. After his service, William lived in California where he worked at Douglas Aircraft and obtained his two-year degree at the Long Beach Community College in California.

William was united in marriage to Lola Marie Davis. They were blessed with four children, Linda, Rebecca, Karen, and Kathy. In 1972 William and Barbara Dianne Felkner were married and they were blessed with one daughter Dianne.

On October 2, 1992, William and Glenna (Fee) Haug was married. William and Glenna shared 29 years of marriage before William’s passing.

William worked various jobs as a younger man. For many years he was a drug and alcohol counselor at the V.A. Hospital in Knoxville and later the Mahaska County Hospital.

He also was a motorcycle safety instructor for 23 years at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. For many years William and Glenna worked and maintained some of the local campgrounds around Lake Red Rock.

William enjoyed painting and writing short stories. He also liked reading and working on jigsaw puzzles, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his four girls and his grandchildren.
William is survived by his wife of 29 years Glenna Clarke; three daughters Rebecca Case (Kenneth Lance), Kathy Clarke, and Dianne Ennis (Rick); three stepsons, Frank Haug, Andy Haug, and Doug Haug; seven grandchildren, Chris Case, Billie Jo Tucker, Dakota Ennis (Kasie), Chance Ennis, Destany Ennis, Zachary Ennis, and Miles Ennis; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. William is also survived by his brothers-in-law Robert Clark, Ronald Davis, Graham Fee, and Ralph Dyer; and two sisters-in-law Ruth Bish and Esther Clarke.

William is preceded in death by his parents Irl and Lola Clarke; two daughters Linda Marie Clarke and Karen Rae Perkey; his sister Betty Clark; two brothers Thomas Clarke (Donna) and Irl Clarke, Jr.; his grandson Dominique Ennis; and sister-in-law, Donna Dyer.
