Funeral services for Wilbur Lawrence Wirthle, 76, of Knoxville, who died February 16, at the Pella Regional Hospital, were held February 19, 1999, at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton.
Burial was at Chariton Cemetery. Pastor Norman Bennett officiated
at the services. Pallbearers were Merlin Pierschbacher, Shawn Pierschbacher, Will
Pierschbacher, David Pierschbacher, Tommy Anderson, and Kenneth Anderson.
Wilbur was born August 5, 1922, in Knoxville, the son of August and Margaret Jones Wirthle. He was a lifelong resident of Knoxville and Marion County and worked in retail sales for the state government in Knoxville for several years.
He was united in marriage to Hazel Lorraine Webb Pierschbacher on April 17, 1979.
He is survived by his wife, of Knoxville; a step-son, Michael Pierschbacher of San
Diego, Calif.; and a step-daughter, Lee Spinier of Des Moines.
Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Prairie Church.
Arrangements were made by Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton.
