Velma Janiece (Rowley) Crozier 70, Knoxville died Friday May 18, 1984 at Pella Community Hospital.
Velma Janiece (Rowley) Crozier was born August 8, 1913 at Sigourney, IA the daughter of Ben and Carolyn (Koopman) Rowley.
She was married to Floyd Crozier on Feb 23, 1931 at Sigourney and the couple spent most of their lives in the Knoxville area.
Velma and Floyd operated the Shamrock Cafe in Knoxville from
1953 until 1963. Following the death of her husband she was a cook at the Marion County Care Facility for 10 years.
She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville Surviving are two sons, Keith Crozier of Houston, Texas and William Crozier of Melcher; three daughters, Donna, Mrs Ray Meulpolder and Carolyn, Mrs. Perry Klein, both of Pella; and Pat, Mrs. Ron Henning, of Knoxville; 18 grandchildren and sevens great-grandchildren; two sisters Thelma, Mrs Lee Hollingshead and Velda Hixon of Knoxville, one brother, Irvin Rowley of rural Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd in July of 1963, one daughter in infancy and one brother, Wilmer Rowley.
Services were held Monday May 21 at the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville. The Rev. K. Wayne Hoehns and the Rev.Kay Hooper officiated.
Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Bybee & Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
