Juanita “Raydene” DeJoode was born January 13, 1943 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Raymond and Juanita (Hartshorn) Moss.

She was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 1960. Following graduation, Raydene attended cosmetology school.

She worked in the cosmetology business for a few years, until Raydene was united in marriage to Darrell Franklin DeJoode. The couple were married on May 30, 1964 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Knoxville. The couple lived in Davenport, Iowa for 17 years before moving to Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Raydene worked as an automotive paint specialist and was one of the top national salespersons for Sherwin-Williams company. Raydene and Darrell then moved to Brighton, Michigan, where they lived until moving to Hayward, Wisconsin in 1994.

They fulfilled a life-long dream when they purchased the R & R Bayview Resort on the Chippewa Flowage in Hayward, WI. Raydene continued to operate the fishing resort with her son and daughter-in-law following Darrell’s death in 2000.

Raydene passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her home, in Hayward, Wisconsin at the age of 77 years.

Those left to cherish Raydene’s memory include her son, Anthony and wife Lorena of Hayward; daughter, Terri DeJoode of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; granddaughter, Mahala of Milwaukee; grandson, Seth of Hayward; and sister, Mahala Cox of Indianola.

A private burial for Raydene DeJoode was held at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date.
