Funeral services for Patsy Joyce (Bales) Harvey, 66, of Indianola, formerly of Knoxville and Pleasantville, who died September 22, 1999, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, were held September 24, 1999, at Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville.

Services were also conducted by Order of Eastern Star Chapter #85. Burial was at Lincoln Cemetery in Marion County.

The Rev. Hearold McElwee officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mildred Brooks, the organist.

Pallbearers were Mike Metcalf, Greg Harvey, Brad Metcalf, D.J. Harvey, Daniel Harless, and Chris Williams.

Honorary bearers,s were Michelle Little, Drake Noftsger, Megan Harvey, Wendi Harless, Chad Little, Derek Noftsger, Kate Harvey Ethan Harvey, and Evin Harvey.

Patsy was born March 9, 1933, in Newton, the daughter of Harvey F. Guy Bales and Oneita Foster Bales. She was raised in Marion County and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1951.

She was united in marriage to Jerry Dean Harvey on July 28, 1951, in Knoxville. They were married 48 years before Patsy was taken by cancer on September 22, 1999.

The couple made their home in Knoxville before moving to Pleasantville in 1961.
They moved to Indianola in 1978. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter

She is survived by her parents of Pleasantville; her husband of Indianola; two sons, Steven Dean Harvey and Billy Guy (Christina) Harvey, both of Pleasantville; three daughters, Joyce Lee (Craig) Metcalf of Pleasantville, Sue Ann (Jim) Steinke of Chariton, and Judy Kay (Ronald) Keesey of Osceola; a brother, Roger Bales of Pershing, 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren

of Miami, OK and Billy Guy (Christina) Harvey of Pleasantville, IA; three daughters, Joyce Lee (Craig) Metcalf of Pleasantville, IA, Sue Ann (Jim) Steinke of Omaha, NE, and Judy Kay (Ronald) Keesey of DeWitt, IA; Memorials may be made to the Pleasantville EMS. Arrangements were made by Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville.
