Services for Noel "Shorty" Long, who died May 28, 1982 at Griffin Nursing Center, were held May 29 at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home.

Interment was Chariton Cemetery, Chariton.
Rev. William Travis officiated at the services. Music was by Merrill Womach, soloist.

Pallbearers were Don Neifert, Jim Worrall, Joe Cameron, Curt Welch, Lee Robinson, and Vern Claver.

Mr. Long was born May 18, 1924 at Melcher, Ia., the son of Jess and Muriel B. Funk Long.

He graduated from the Knoxville High School in 1943.
He served in the Navy from 1943 to February 1946.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Knoxville. He was a member of the American Legion, the V.F.W. Post, and the Marion Co. Shrine Club.

He was employed for many years at the Veterans Hospital.
He has no immediate family, but is survived by three nephews and a niece.
