Marian L. Schupp died Saturday, May 15, 2004, while vacationing in
Hilton Head, S. C. She was 64.
Mrs. Schupp was born Feb. 16, 1940 , in Kimballton, Iowa, to Samuel O. Glime b.1909 d.1978 and Bernice Magdelena Carstens b.1913 d.2001.
After graduating from Forest City High School in Iowa, she attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1962 with a degree in textiles and clothing.
On July 28, 1962, she married Guy Schupp in Forest City.
In 1964, they moved to Columbia where Mrs. Schupp was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She served as president of Women of the Church, an elder, Sunday school teacher and choir member.
She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing bridge, gardening and traveling. She was a swimming instructor for the Red Cross and served at the University of Missouri Daycare Center before going to work at Global Travel.
In 1981 she helped to establish a travel department at Shelter Insurance Companies, where she was general manager in charge of corporate and incentive travel until her death.
Mrs. Schupp is survived by her husband, Guy Schupp; two sons, Mark C. Schupp of Boonville and John M. Schupp of Columbia, her brother, Douglas G. Glime of Vista, Cald; an aunt, Esther Flair of St. Louis; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church.
A reception will follow.
