Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Maxine (Clarke) Betterton, who died, Oct. 26, 1965 at Collins Memorial
hospital, were held Oct. 29 from Bybee & Davis funeral home, with Rev. Carrol Johnson, officiating.

Burial was at Graceland cemetery. Pallbearers were Dick Darnell, John Fee, Vernon Lister, Ray Pieratt, Wendell Robinson, and Stubby Wagner. Music was by Richard Neighbor, and Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Ray Pieratt and Mrs. Lucille Jones.

Margaret Maxine,
daughter of John Joe and Stella Bybee Clarke, was born Sept. 10, 1915 near Knoxville
and spent most of her life in this community.

In 1934 she was united in marriage
to Harold D. Betterton. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Her mother preceded
her in death. Surviving are her father, John Joe Clarke; one sister Mrs. Paul
(Doris) Gosnell, Springfield, Ill.; one brother, John Lyman Clarke, Chicago, Ill, four children,
Joseph D., David C., and Mrs. Richard (Sarah) Hopkins, Knoxville and John
R. of Cedar Rapids; and eight children.
