Lois Arlene (Miers) Peters, 86, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at
Mary Greeley Medical Center, in Ames, IA. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m.,
Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Lois was born April 20, 1925, to Clarence F. and Cora E. (Curtis) Miers, in Knoxville,
IA.
She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1943. Lois was united in marriage to
John E. Peters Jr. on October 3, 1945, in Iowa City, Ia. He died on February 5, 2003.
Lois was a homemaker. She and her family resided in Iowa City, Chariton, and most
recently Marshalltown. Lois was a member of First United Methodist Church, in Marshalltown.
She enjoyed sewing, playing golf, bridge, bowling, and coffee/lunch with the ladies,
and looked forward to spending time with her family.
Lois will be missed by her daughter, Kay A. (Duane) Fisher of Des Moines, a granddaughter,
Tamara (Jerry) Dixon of Knoxville, two great-grandsons, Patrick and Isaac Ealy of
Ames and West Des Moines respectfully, a brother, Eldon C. Miers of Des Moines,
and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by, her husband, John, parents, and a sister, Mildred
Snyder, a step-grandson, and a step great-grandson.
