Debra worked at the veterans' hospital in Knoxville for over 20 years on the medical and surgical floor, and as a Physical Therapy Aid. After retiring, she continued to work at the Hy-Vee Bakery as a cake decorator and baker. She was a memberof the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Knoxville.

Deb had many joys, it gave her great pleasure to cook and bake, then provide her delicious food to others, which she shared generously.

She also loved working with plants, growing something to bring more beauty to the world. Deb was known to love animals. Stray dogs and cats often found a home with her.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2506 South Attica Road, Knoxville, with Pastor John Chadwick officiating.
