Services for LaVeda Irene (Shives) Loney, 64, of Knoxville, who died June 2, 1990 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, were held June 4 at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Gosport Cemetery at a later date.

Maurice Johnston officiated at the services. Music was provided by Jim Kidder, the organist.

Mrs. Loney was born April 2, 1926, in Knoxville, the daughter of Johnathan and Prudence Almiera Perry Shives. She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1943.

On Nov. 27, 1947, at Knoxville, she married Roy Olin Loney.

They moved to southern California in 1951 and to Sun City, Ariz. in 1983, before retiring to Knoxville in March. She had retired as a computer operator for a bowling alley in Sun City, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Gerald, Kenneth, and Harry.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Greg of Houma, La. and Mike of Raceland, La.; one daughter, Michelle Wambolt of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; three brothers, Lee of Knoxville and Howard and Teddy, both of Prescott, Ariz.; and her mother-in-law, Maude Loney of Knoxville.
