Memorial services for Kenneth Lee Rankin, 73, of Fairbanks, Alaska, who died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at his home, will be held Sunday, Nov. 17, in Fairbanks.

Kenneth was born on September 2, 1929, in Knoxville. He was the son of Lloyd and Maude (Carter)
Rankin. He attended school in Knoxville.

After high school, he served four years in the Navy before attending Upper Iowa University. After graduating from Upper
Iowa, Kenneth made his home in Fairbanks, Alaska where he worked at the Air Force
Base in Clear, Alaska until his retirement. Kenneth spent 32 years taking care of
the Little League field. During this time he was also the coach and manager of the
Yankees Little League Team. 11.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Rankin;
a sister, Katherine Sims; and a brother-in-law, Harry Sims. He is survived by his
mother, Maude Rankin of Knoxville; three brothers, Dwight Rankin of Fairbanks, Alaska,
Ralph Rankin of Knoxville, and William (Chick) and his wife Linda Rankin of Knoxville;
and nieces and nephews Deborah Carruthers and family of Des Moines, Dan, and Pamela
Pearson and family of Knoxville, Kurt and Lisa Ciesielski of Ankeny, Rick and Joni
Rankin and family of Knoxville, and Bill Rankin of California.
