Services for Jennie (Leuty) Kilgore, 92, of Pleasantville, who passed away Feb. 25, 1991, were held Feb. 28 at the Mason Funeral Home in Pleasantville. Interment was in the Pleasantville Cemetery.

Rev. Lynda Carlson officiated at the services.
Music was provided by organist Mildred Brooks.

Pallbearers were Wayne Gasper, Lcuty Schreiner, Dean Sadler, Alan Shoop, William Hardin Jr and William Hardin.

Jennie was born on Nov. 29, 1898, in Marion County, the daughter of Walker and Lois
Harkin Leuty. She graduated from Knoxville High School in the class of 1920. Following
graduation, she taught in the country schools and later was a secretary for the Marion
County Sheriff’s office.

She married James Wren and they divorced. Later she married Harry Kilgore in 1939
and the couple lived in Galesburg, Ill, for many years. She was an antique dealer
for many years. The couple retired and moved to St. Petersburg. Fla. Following the
death of her husband, she moved to Pleasantville in 1980.

She is survived by her sister Camille Paardekooper of Knoxville and her brother
Ely Leuty of Orlando, Fla. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A memorial to the Pleasantville Library has been established in her name.
