Funeral services for Georgia Lorraine (Adams) Stansberry, 65, of Knoxville, who died of a heart ailment Friday, Nov 13, 1998, at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held November 16, 1998, at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.

Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
The Rev. John D. States officiated at the services. Music was provided by Darlene Mooberry, organist, and Barbara Marvelli, vocalist. Pallbearers were Donald Carter, Donald Miller, Tommy Moore, Dean Sims, George Sims Jr., Robert Sims, and Robert L. Stone.

Georgia was born February 27, 1933, in Iowa City, the daughter of George Lewis Morris and Wilma Fern Adams. She began working at an early age, taking care of her grandmother in Melcher, and became a caregiver from these early experiences. She also worked at Maytag Company in Newton.

She was united in marriage to Louis DeWayne Stansberry on May 17, 1964, in Knoxville. She was employed at the VA Hospital in Knoxville until her retirement in 1978, after 23 years of service. She continued to do volunteer work at the VA.

She was preceded in death by her father; and an infant brother.

She is survived by her husband of Knoxville; her mother of Knoxville; two step-daughters, JoAnn Stansberry of Story City, and Debra Stansberry of Huxley; two brothers, Dean Sims of Knoxville, and George Sims Jr., of Trent, S.D.; a sister, Delorus Stone of Ft. Dodge; and one step-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Knoxville.
