ROCK ISLAND — Edward T. Jerkins, of Rock Island, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at his home. Memorials services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island. Private inurnment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park.
There is no visitation. Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements.
He had worked as a steamfitter for 42 years for McKay Plumbing Co., Rock Island. Mr. Jerkins was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Knoxville, Iowa.
He married Bernice Longueville in 1968 in Rock Island. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Renae Jerkins, Tipton, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Donna Wynes, Waterloo, Iowa; a stepson, Larry Longueville, Moline; two granddaughters; six step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Winters, Knoxville; and brothers, William Jerkins, Knoxville, and Raymond Jerkins, Jefferson City, Mo.
