Funeral services for Duane "Skip" Kline, 66, of Knoxville, who died July 8,1996 at the
Pella Community Hospital, were held July 11, 1996 at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. The Rev. Jack Blubaugh officiated
at the services. Music was provided by Darlene Mooberry, organist, and Dorothy Blubaugh,
vocalist. Pallbearers were Ken Bailey, Ray Gettman, Cornie Hol, Max Park, Stan Roll
and Reed Smith.
Skip was born February in Tracy, the son of Charles Dal and Blanche Calvert
Kline. He spent his earlier years in the Tracy area, where the family farmed. He
graduated from Knoxville High School and served in the U.S. Army in the 806th Engineering
Battalion, where he was an automotive electrician for military vehicles.
Ater returning
to Knoxville, worked for several years as a cement truck driver for Knoxville Ready-Mix. He was one of
the founders of the Red Rock Coon-Hunters Association. He was preceded in death
by his parents; and a sister, Doris Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred,
of Knoxville; two sons, Junior Kline of Knoxville, and Richard Poston of Knoxville;
two daughters, Arlene Heaton of Ottawa, Kan., and Kathy Carr of Knoxville; two brothers,
Jeff of Knoxville, and Jerry of Altoona; three sisters, Emma Potfenbarger, Betty
McRoberts, and Lin Williams, all of Knoxville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella.
