Services for Dorothy May (Davis) Rees, 77, of Knoxville, who passed away Nov. 5, 1991 a the Mercy Medical Center as the result of a stroke, was held Nov. 8 at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home.

Burial was in Graceland Cemetery. Rev. George Yetter officiated at the services. Music was provided by organist Mildred Brooks. Casketbearers were Ralph Dyer, Frank Schumacher, Grant Rankin, Gail Johns, Phil Core, and Henry Bensink.

She was born on July 10, 1914, in Knoxville the daughter of Will and Elizabeth Burt Davis.

She attended Knoxville Schools and graduated in the class of 1932.
She was united in marriage to Donald Rees on Aug. 30, 1933, in Knoxville and they made their
home on the farm all their married lives. She was a person who enjoyed doing things
with her family. Donald's activities with the Marion County Fairboard offered her
many opportunities to meet and make friends with many people. She enjoyed camping
and was an avid reader.

They were also active in 4-H and were adult counselors.
She was employed at the Marion County Care Center for 12 years as a nurses aide,
retiring on Oct. 14, 1988. She and Donald were members of St. Paul's United Methodist
Church of Pleasantville.Dorothy Davis

Preceding her in death were her parents. Surviving members
of her family include her husband Donald; two sons, Ronnie Rees and his wife Judy
of Knoxville; Robert Rees and his wife Marie of Ida Grove; seven grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United
Methodist.
