Charles Edward Jones, 55, of 1222 S.W. Third St., Ankeny, died of a heart ailment Sunday, April 28, 1991, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens
Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born 1935, the son of Harry Caries and Rachel Guyola (Miller) Jones, in Marion County and lived in Ankeny about 31 years. In 1960 Charles was married to Ardella Kay Parker.
He was a jeep driver for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., an Army veteran and a member of Ankeny United Methodist Church and the United Rubber Workers union.
Survivors include his wife, Ardella; a daughter, Sharon Ponder of Rogers, Ark.; a son, Robert, and two brothers, Ron and Russell, all of Ankeny; and three sisters, Mary Kuiper of Knoxville, Phyllis Mitchell of Ankeny and Eleanor Ostendorf of Ames.
