Cecil Agness Price 1911-2001 Funeral services for Cecil Agness (Karr) Price, 89, of Knoxville,
who died on Monday, March 26, 2001, at Westridge Nursing Home, were held on Thursday,
March 29, at Williams Funeral Home.

Pastor Jake Knight officiated at the services.
Music was provided by Joan Arnott, organist and Dr. Gordon Arnott Sr., vocalist.

Interment was at Ruckman Cemetery in Marion County. Casketbearers were Dwayne Betterton,
Jim Foster, Gary Kingery, Richard Kingery, Bill Lane and Kenneth Sytsma.

Cecil was born on June 10, 1911, in rural Marion County near Red Rock. She was the
eldest child of Cora Jane Teter and Thomas Burton (Burt) Karr. She grew up in the
Red Rock area and attended Blaine rural school. She graduated from the Knoxville
High School in 1929. She attended Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Mo.
from 1929-1931. She worked at the Knoxville Courthouse for two years.

She married Merl Lewis Price on September 17, 1933 in Knoxville. They lived and
worked in Red Rock until the building of the Red Rock dam caused them to move to
a farm south of Knoxville in 1965. Cecil, an accomplished pianist, gave lessons
to local children. She also wrote a Red Rock News Column for the Knoxville paper
for a number of years.

She was a long-time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Knoxville.

Cecil was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Harold, Lloyd and
Norman Karr.

She is survived by her sister, Roberta Hodgson of Knoxville; three sisters-in-law, Helen Karr of Punta Gorda, Fla., Irma Karr of Knoxville and Cleo Karr of Avon Park,
Fla.; nine nieces and nephews; numerous great and great-great-grandnieces and nephews
as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Knoxville or the American
Cancer Society.
