Allyene Media (Speed) May, 51, wife of Maj. Gen. Joseph G. May, adjutant general of the Iowa National
Guard, died Monday, May 24, 1976, of a stroke at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
Mrs. May, who lived at Camp Dodge, had been ill three days.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Knoxville,
with burial at Graceland Cemetery at Knoxville.
Mrs. May was born July 24, 1925 in Knoxville and had lived in the Des Moines area since 1956.
She moved to Camp Dodge in 1961.
She was a member of the officer's auxiliary of the Iowa National Guard.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jolene Thorp and Marty Gunhus, both
of Des Moines; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Speed of Knoxville, and four grandchildren.
