Ted was born on April 17, 1925 in Pershing Iowa, the son of Theodore and Minnie
Johnston Godfrey. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1943. He served in
the United States Navy during WW II as a radio operator.

Ted married Judith Krogstad
on September 30, 1950 in Knoxville. They lived their entire married lives Marion
County. Ted retired in 1975 as warehouse supervisor for the Veterans Medical Center in Knoxville.

He enjoyed wood carving.
operating his Ham Radio, he enjoyed nature, especially bird watching. He also liked to read novels and having coffee with friends.

Ted Godfrey, 76, of Knoxville died of a heart ailment Wednesday Oct. 3, 2001 at
Knoxville Area Community Hospital.

The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Knoxville, of which he was a member.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother one sister, one grandson, Stewart Godfrey.

He is survived by his wife, Judith of Knoxville; two sons, Mark of Panora and Gregg of Danville; a daughter, Holly Godfrey of Manitowoo, Wis; and five grandchildren.

Private burial was in Graceland
Cemetery. The family will receive friends following services in the church fellowship
hall.
