Norma Jean Faye Sedlock, 93, of Moline, passed away Wednesday July 27, 2016 at Amber Ridge Memory Care, Moline.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Monday, August 1, 2016 at Christ the King Church, Moline. Visitation will be 2-5pm Sunday at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline with a Christian Wake service at 1:30pm. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials can be made to Christ the King Church or Arrowhead Ranch.

Norma Jean was born October 13, 1922 in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of David and Bertha Lena (Holmes) Robinson.

She graduated from Knoxville High School in 1940. She was united in marriage to Edward Sedlock on June 1, 1946 at St. Anthony’s Church, Knoxville. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1994.

Norma worked a short time for the Rock Island Arsenal as an overhead crane operator, and later for Epic foods in the executive dining room of the John Deere Administration Building. During her time with John Deere she had the opportunity to meet several people who appreciated her talents in food service. She became a noted caterer of in-home parties for various executives.

She and Ed became good friends of William and Tish Hewitt helping them with their entertaining and house sitting/dog sitting when they were away. Her greatest joy was working on the John Deere boat serving all the guests aboard. She also could be found serving desserts and beverages at Butterworth Center for various events.

Norma volunteered every Friday for years at the weekly fish fry dinner held at the Croatian Crest Club. Her determined work ethic and efficiency were a great contribution to all she served.

Norma and Ed were members of the Acey Deucey Square Dance Club for many years. They enjoyed their weekly dance meetings as well as visiting other clubs and attending conventions across the Midwest.

Norma was a member of Christ the King Church, Moline, where she served as Eucharistic Minister, Greeter and Usher. She was an accomplished seamstress, crafter and quilter. She proudly created a unique and individual quilt for each of her sons and grandchildren to cherish.

Survivors and (Spouses) include her sons, John (Patty) Sedlock, Swedona, IL, Jim (Lori) Sedlock, Joe (Lori) Sedlock, Sherrard, Jeff Sedlock, LaCrescent, MN and J.D. (Tracy) Sedlock, Sparta, WI; grandchildren, Mary Jean Sedlock, John Sedlock, Jr., D.J. (Trisha) Sedlock, Amber Sedlock, Beth Sedlock, Cody Sedlock and Jason (Carmen) Sedlock; step grandchildren, Tom Schweska, Abby (Jordan) Weaver and Mollie (Robbie) Hansen; great grandchildren, Remington, Camden, Destiny and Jordyn.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including, Dorothy Galloway, Liz Sherlock, Patrick Sherlock, Kitty Shephard, Mike May, Judy Kenneback, David Ladd and Anna Jones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, her parents, sisters, Hester Chisholm, Lorraine May, Wilma Sherlock, Darlene Bubon and brothers, Paul Robinson, Leland Robinson and Bob Robinson.
