Services for John Irvin Rowley, 46, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Knoxville who died March 23 at his home in Cedar Rapids, were held March 26, 1994, at Evans-McCleery

Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville. The Reverend Roger T. Goodson officiated at the services.

Music was provided by Merrill Womack. Pallbearers were Dick Snow, Ben Rowley, Rocky McDonald, Danny White, Larry DeVos, and Jack Nicholson.

Honorary pallbearers were Larry Kline and Bob Kinney.

John was born April 6, 1947, in Knoxville, the son of Dean and Alberta Glover Rowley.

He attended Knoxville Schools, and joined the Marine Corps after graduation, serving in Vietnam. He had worked at Maytag in Newton for 19 years and had been employed at Holub Grinding, in Marion. He was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville and the Whitebreast Beavers 4-H Club.

He had been married to Debbie Agan, and to this union a son, Kevin, and a daughter, Kimberly was born. He later married Sheila Snow on July 29, 1992, and to this union a son, Isaac was born.

He is survived by his parents; his wife, Sheila; two sons, Kevin of Knoxville, and Isaac of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Kimberly Moneysmith of Knoxville; two brothers, Randy of Knoxville, and Roger of Pleasant Hill; a sister, Connie Van Sickle of Flower Mound, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to John and Shelia’s son John Isaac Rowley. Arrangements were made by Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville.
