Funeral services for Helen Lucille (Ramey) Barnett, 90, who died Feb. 18, 2005 at the Hospice
Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines was held on Feb. 23 at the Bybee & Davis
Funeral Home with Minister Dale Blanshan officiating: Interment was at Graceland
Cemetery.
Barnett was born on Nov. 17, 1914, in Knoxville to Layton and Lillian
Grant Ramey. She graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1933.
On Nov. 18, 1934, she married
Myrl Nate Barnett in Winterset. Barnett was preceded in death by her parents; a
son, Thomas Myrl; a sister, Catherine Lawrence; two brothers: Jack and Chuck Ramey
and her husband.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Wall of Des Moines; a
sister, Mertie Hawxby of West Des Moines; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
