Connie Mae (Spencer) McCullough was born February 21, 1939 in Knoxville, Iowa the third of three daughters born to Prosper Spencer and Hazel Zella (Stice) Spencer.

Connie attended Knoxville Schools, where she played clarinet in the band. She graduated from Knoxville High School in the Class of 1957.

On July 6, 1957 she was united in marriage to John Leslie McCullough. The couple made Knoxville their home and to this union one son, Michael was born. Connie worked at Marion County Mutual Insurance until her retirement. In retirement, she enjoyed her friends in the Hardee’s coffee group. Connie’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and attending their activities.

Connie passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Comfort House, in Pella, at the age of 80 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Frances Rankin and Marjorie Clark and her husband, John.

Those left to mourn Connie’s passing include her son Michael (Marsha) McCullough; grandchildren: Scott (Shawna) McCullough, Joel McCullough, Andrea Loukota, and Marissa McCullough; great-grandchildren: Carter, Dane and Connor Loukota and Cooper and Cambell McCullough and many other family members and friends.

Connie McCullough, age 80 of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Comfort House in Pella. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella.
