Meloy, Wynona (Nonie) Arline Winters was born July 9, 1935 in Galesburg, Iowa to parents Ollie S. and Sarah E. Winters.

She grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School.
After moving to Des Moines where she met Marvin W. Meloy
they wed on Sept. 2, 1956. They moved their family to Houston in June of 1975.

Nonie was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to sew and play hand bells, and watch her grandchildren play.

She was a member of the St. Martin’s Lutheran Church serving in the WELCA; Nonie was employed as a personnel actions clerk at the VA Medical Center since 1987.

She is survived by loving husband, Marvin; son, Richard and wife Melita; daughter Debra Wilhite and husband Ron; daughter, Sally Clesi and husband Charlie; daughter, Laura Christensen and husband Joel; fourteen grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Samuel, Meghan,
Nathaniel & Emileigh Meloy; Sarah, Carrie and Josie Wilhite; Jennifer & Kristen Clesi; Nicholas, Clarissa and Valerie Christensen; great grandchild, Hayley; brother, Wendell E. Winters and wife Jerri of Knoxville, Iowa; brother-in-law Fred E. Middleton of Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 3, 2000, between the hours of 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 4, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church with a graveside service following at 1:30 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Kelley officiating.
