Memorial services for Gregory W. Stuchel, 39, formerly of Knoxville, who died Saturday,
May 13, 2000, at his mother's home in Surfside Beach, S.C., was held Thursday, May
18 at 10 a.m. at the Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville. Rev. William Walter
officiated at the service. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Albia.

Gregory was born on November 2, 1960, in Des Moines, the son of William and Sharon
Long Stuchel. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1979.

Gregory lived in Iowa most of his life. He was a journeyman plumber and worked in
many cities and states. He worked in Des Moines for several years and had currently
been employed by Gasque Plumbing in South Carolina. He was a member of the Plumber
and Steamfitters Local 33.

Gregory enjoyed hunting for Indian relics and was interested in antiques.

He is survived by a daughter, Lyndsey Dawn Stuchel and her mother, Karen of Cary,
N.C.; his parents, Sharon Stuchel of Surfside Beach, S.C., and William Stuchel of
Knoxville; one sister, Theresa Stuchel of Raleigh, N.C.; and three brothers and
two sisters-in-law, Todd and Susan Stuchel of Charlotte, N.C., Scott and Lynn Stuchel
of Cary, N.C., and Patrick Stuchel of Virginia Beach, Va.

Memorial contributions may be made to the " Just Say No to Drugs" program through
the Strand Optimist Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the D.A.R.E. program through
the Knoxville Optimist Club.

Arrangements were made by the Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville.
