William Owen Leuty formerly of Knoxville died March 19, 1955 at Ellisworth, Kan., after an illness of two days.

The deceased was the son of Walker S. and Lois Harkin Leuty and was born in Percy, Iowa November 4, 1906. On August 14, 1940 he was united in marriage to Verna Lescot of Ellsworth , Kan., and to this union two daughters were born, Patsy age 13 and Constance Ann age 9.

The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Consistory and Shrine of Wichita, Kans. He was a graduate of the Knoxville High School and attended Coe College of Cedar Rapids. He was a registered civil engineer.

Mr. Leuty was preceded in death by his father in 1941, and by three sisters, Elizabeth, Mary Margaret and Myrta Clare.

Surviving besides his wife and two daughters are his mother, Mrs Lois Leuty of Knoxville, one brother Ely W. Leuty of Atlanta, Ga., and four sisters, Mrs. Martha Hardin of Pleasantville, Mrs. Jennie Kilgore of St. Petersberg, Fla., Mrs. Camille Paardekooper of Knoxville and Mrs. Grayce Schreiner of Pella.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. James Christensen at the Williams Funeral Home on March 22. Interment was made in Graceland Cemetery under the auspices of Oriental Lodge 61 A.F. and A. M.
