Word was received here of the death of Wilford Crawford, former resident, who was instantly killed, Tuesday, may 18 while on his way to work in the silver mine at Kellog, Idaho, where he was employed.
He was walking along the street when a 65 year old driver, lost control of his car, striking Mr. Crawford He was so badly crushed that identification was not possible for sometime.
Mr. Crawford, 34 years old, lived in Knoxville for a number of years, and graduated from the local high school.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Crawford, former residents, who now live at Norwalk, Iowa, and also a nephew of the late James Crawford.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 25, at Des Moines, with burial in a Des Moines cemetery.
Mrs. Ruth Crawford and son Dale and daughter, Katherine attended the funeral Tuesday afternoon.
