Walter Glen Cronkhite, son of Abe Cronkhite and Eunice Fornerod was born Dec. 21, 1901 on the old Cronkhite farm and lived all of his life in Marion County until he finished school.

He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1920 where he played football and basketball and went to Penn College on a school scholarship. He also attended North western University in Chicago and lived the balance of his life there where he owned his own radio and T.V. repair shop.

He took his own life on Friday June 8, 1956 at his home.

He leaves his wife Selma, three daughters, Carolyn, Waleen and Eunice and a son Walter Jr. who is stationed on Guam.

One daughter Selma preceded him in death in 1956. His mother died on Jan. 18, 1932 and a brother Abe on June 11, 1941.

He also leaves his brother Howard of Galesburg, EL; Raymond of Flat Rock, EL, and John of Highland Park, EL, and his father Abe Cronkhite who lives in Highland Park, Ill.
