Vivian L. Snow, daughter of Alvin and Clara Belle Snow, was born in Knoxville, Ia., Dec. 6, 1899 and departed this life Oct. 6, 1934, at the age of 34 years and 10 months.
On March 24, 1920, she was united in marriage to Arthur Hodgson Prickett (b.1895-d.1929), of Pleasantville, who preceded her in death five years ago. To this union two sons were born–Lloyd C., age 13, and Bobby, 11, who have lived with their mother in Pleasantville til the time of her death.
Her mother, Clara Belle Snow, died Dec. 24, 1918.
Besides her children she leaves to mourn her death her father, Alvin Snow; a step-mother and one brother, Carroll Snow, of Knoxville; two step-brothers, Robert Carle, of Albia, and Harold Carle, of Knoxville; besides other relatives and a host of friends.
Deceased spent most of her life in the vicinity of Knoxville and Pleasantville. At an early age she became a member of the Methodist church at Knoxville and about two years ago affiliated with the Methodist church at Pleasantville.
She was a devoted mother, a good neighbor, a faithful Christian and was loved by all who knew her.
At the time of her death Vivian was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, having been president of the Auxiliary two years.
Funeral service were held at the Pleasantville Methodist church on Tuesday,Oct. 9, conducted by her pastor, Rev. P.S. Apfel
The American Legion Auxiliary conducted a brief service at the church, following the services of the pastor.
Burial was in the family lot in the Pleasantville cemetery, beside her husband, a World war veteran, who preceded her in death.
Friends and relatives attending church to its full capacity, many having to stand up after all available seats were occupied, to show their last respect to one whom they loved and respected.
