Violet Nora (Dessery) Kersey, 74, an East Multnomah County resident since 1972, died Monday, September 19, 1983 in a Portland Oregon hospital.

The Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Carroll Funeral Home, Gresham with vault interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kersey was born, on July 16, 1909, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Floyd Ernest Dessery and Stella Hodges.

She worked 17 years for TreeSweet Cannery Co. in Santa Ana, Calif., before moving to Oregon.

A homemaker, she was a member of Rockwood Life Center Church, Assembly of God.

She married Henry Kersey.

Surviving Mrs. Kersey is one stepson, Wilbur Fee of Knoxville, Iowa, and one nephew, Glenn Randol of Portland.

Henry Harold Kersey was born Oct 6, 1908, in Iowa, to Ulysses Grant Kersey and Anna Catherine Kersey (born Groves).

Ulysses was born on August 29, 1868, in Pleasantville, Marion Co. IA.
Anna was born on March 30, 1868, in Marion Twp. Allen Co. Ohio.

Henry had 8 siblings: Jessie T Kersey, Elmer Kersey, Ralph, and 5 other siblings.
Henry passed away on month day 1977, at age 67 at death place, Oregon.

He was buried in Oregon.
