Vickie Loy (Chandler) Anderson, 75, of Crosstown Square in Silvis, Illinois, formerly of West Des Moines, IA, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.
There will be no services at this time. Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Black Hawk College Foundation for the Vickie L. Anderson Scholarship fund for nursing students.
Vickie was born January 13, 1946, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Dean and Winnie Chandler. She grew up in Knoxville, Iowa, and graduated from high school in 1963.
She received her nurse’s training from the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing and worked as an RN for more than 20 years at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. In 1988 she graduated from Drake University with her Master of Business Administration degree.
Vickie finished her working career in Human Resources for the State of Iowa in the Department of Personnel. She enjoyed cooking and trying her luck at the casinos.
Vickie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Brian Anderson & Holly Smith-Anderson, East Moline; and grandchildren, Emma and Grayson Anderson. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Cathie Fane; and nephew, Michael Fane.
