Thelma Lenore Houser 1918 – 2008 Thelma passed on to her heavenly reward on March 17, 2008.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Fred and Christina Dillemuth; grandchildren, Jay and Jamie Dillemuth and great-grandchildren, Sage, Jamison, and Loden Dillemuth.
Thelma was born and raised in Iowa, graduating from Knoxville High and then attending Drake University in Des Moines.
She studied business and worked as a traveling auditor for Dial Finance company where she broke through the " glass ceiling" into positions of responsibility previously unavailable to women. In 1961 she moved to her adopted home San Francisco where she worked as a hospital administrator before discovering the love of her working life: real estate.
She formed Thelma Houser Realty specializing in high-end and investment properties for renowned clients like basketball great Nate Thurmond of the Golden State Warriors, 49er all-star Matt Hazeltine and Lawyer Melvin Belli.
She loved meeting people and providing personalized service that kept referrals going. Her greatest pleasure was when she would take a call from a total stranger who would say "Dr. So-and-so knew I was looking for a home and he said "Ya gotta call Thelma!"
Her non-work hours were filled with travel and travel plans, decorating her various holdings in Silverado, Palm Springs, or Beverly Hills, and of course GOLF!
Remembrances can be sent to Live Oak Family Services at 2319 Piccardo Circle Stockton, CA 95207.
