Ted Richard Roberts was born April 13, 1933 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Ralph and Helen (Ward) Roberts.

Following graduation from Knoxville High School, Ted worked at Long’s Standard Service.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958. Ted earned a Master’s Degree in Hospital Administration and spent his working years at hospitals and care facilities around Iowa. He lived in Iowa Falls, Sibley, Ottumwa, Cedar Falls, and Keokuk before he retired and returned to Knoxville.

In his spare time, Ted enjoyed being outside – especially fishing, hunting, camping, and nature walks. He also liked to travel to new places.

Ted was an avid Hawkeye fan. Whatever he was doing, Ted enjoyed meeting and visiting with people.
Ted passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at his home at the age of 84 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish Ted’s memory include his children: Diane Malone of Lafayette, Colorado, Sharon Van Arsdale of Clive, Iowa, and Sandra Roberts of Clive, Iowa; granddaughter, Killian Malone of Layfette, Colorado; brother, Edmond Roberts of Overland Park, Kansas, and many other family members and friends.

Memorial services for Ted Roberts, age 84 of Knoxville, will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church.

Military Honors will be rendered. A luncheon will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knoxville Senior Center.
