Ted Lee Giorgetti of Knoxville, age 85, passed away January 11, 2015 at the West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center.

Ted was born October 22, 1929, the son of Clarence “Ted” and Faye (Smith) Giorgetti in Knoxville, Iowa. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1947 and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during the Korean War.

Ted began his career in the Federal Government Service in 1958 when he became the United States Border Patrol Agent in El Paso, Texas, before joining the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service in Chicago in 1965.

Ted rose through the ranks to become the Assistant District Director for Investigations of the Northern District of Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin and received numerous awards and commendations. He retired from federal law enforcement in 1982 and returned to Knoxville in 1983.

Ted married Evelyn McCormick in 1968 in Chicago. They were blessed with one daughter, Jennifer.

He had previously married Delores Button of Knoxville. They were blessed with three children: Timothy, Terri, and Thomas.
After retirement, Ted and Evelyn enjoyed summers in Canada for many years. Ted was an avid fisherman and known for his knowledge and skill of the sport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Terri Commander and Delores (Button) Giorgetti.

Ted is survived by his wife of 46 years, Evelyn; daughter, Jennifer (Troy) Padellford of Pleasantville; son, Timothy Giorgetti of Sacramento, CA; son, Thomas Giorgetti of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren: Joshua, Natalie, and Emma Padellford and Sara Commander; nieces; nephews and numerous other relatives.
