As per Sally's wishes she has been cremated and no services are scheduled.
Those left to honor Sally's memory are her two sons, Mike Safris of Newton, and Brian Safris of Wichita, Kansas; granddaughter, Emily Safris of Wichita; her brothers, David Core of Knoxville, Iowa, and Denny (Pam) Core of Clive, Iowa; and her sister, Suzie Core of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethelyn Elizabeth (Reynolds) Core, and her father, Forest Earl Core.
Sally was a graduate of Knoxville High School in Knoxville, Iowa, Class of 1965.
Sally worked for the Iowa Department of Corrections in Newton for 25+ years; she was in administration when she retired in 2003.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton.
Sally loved being with her family, she also enjoyed gardening and flower gardening.
