Funeral services for Ruth Marie (Hawk) Wright, 87, of Melcher-Dallas, who died April 3, 1998
at Mercy SubAcute Care Center in Des Moines, were held on April 7, 1998, at New Hope
Methodist Church in Melcher-Dallas. Burial was at Dallas Cemetery.

The Rev. Lane Riggle officiated at the services. Music was provided by JoAnn Luksetich. Pallbearers
were Heidi Wright, Scott Wright, Bill Wright, Roger Wright, Greg Wright, and Dave Flanagan.

Ruth was born March 29, 1911, in Pershing, the daughter of Laura Etta
Hartness Hawk and George Ewing Hawk. She graduated from Knoxville High School in
1930. She took normal training classes in preparation for teaching.

She was united in marriage to B. Clifton Wright on June 25, 1933, in Unionville, Mo. They didn’t announce
their marriage until almost a year later, as Ruth had a teaching position and was to remain single to retain the job.

The couple moved to the Melcher area in 1942. Ruth Wright
Dalcher Go-Getters 4-H Club for over 15 years. She was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a twin son and daughter, Doyle Dean and Delores Jean in infancy. She is survived
by a son, Daryl “Dee” of Knoxville. Arrangements were made by Mosher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas.
