Dr. Dwight Howard Stone, 65, of Boulder City, Nevada. formerly of Knoxville, died April
4, 1998, at his home. Dwight was born October 9, 1932, in Knoxville. the son Dwight
Stone. DO, and Hazel Stone.
He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1951. He
attended the State University of Iowa in Iowa City, where he received a BA in 1955.
He received the MD and surgery degree from Washington University, in St. Louis,
Mo., in 1959. He later became a board certified surgeon. He spent four years doing
general surgery at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wadsworth, Kan.
He served
in Vietnam as a surgeon in Soc. Trang. Saigon and Nha Trang. He was chief of surgery
at the Eighth Field Hospital in Nha Trang until 1968 He was a surgeon at the Cass
County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic from 1968 until 1982. He moved from Atlantic
to Boulder City, Nev. in 1991, where he had a winter home. In recent years, he spent
the summers in Port Angeles, Wash.
He is survived by a brother, Dwayne D. Stone
of Marietta. Ohio.
