Graveside services for Matilda Ruth "Tillie" Baker, 52, of Seattle, Washington, who died May 12, in Seattle, were held June 14, 1994, at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. The Reverend Aaron McCombs officiated at the services
Tillie was born October 28, 1941, in Illinois, the daughter of Theodore and Ada Mary Seibert Baker.
Her early years were spent in Illinois before her family moved to Knoxville, where they operated the Marion Hotel and Coffee Shop for several years.
Upon her parents' retirement, she moved to Des Moines, working as a cosmetologist. She moved to Seattle in 1977, continuing her work in cosmetology.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by cousins and other relatives; also Mr. John Perkovich of Des Moines, a good friend of her namesake, Ruth Bertrum, her favorite aunt.
Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
