Robert "Bob" Duane Smith, 80, of Ozark, Mo., passed away Monday, May 19, 2008. He
was born July 9, 1927, in Marion County.
He graduated from high school in Knoxville
in 1945, where he participated in track and field. Bob served in the United States
Air Force. He retired from Swift and Co. after 22 years, where he was a meat packer.
He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Ozark, Mo.
He was united in marriage
to Ruby Baird on Nov. 18, 2007, in Branson, Mo. Bob was a volunteer worker for Meals
on Wheels, Community Hospice, Skaggs Hospital and the Branson Senior Center. He
enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, southern gospel and old time country music and
playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Gladys Smith; his
wife of 56 years and mother of his children, Clenna Laverna Smith; and his second
wife, Vera Mae Harvey Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Baird Smith; children,
Jill Moore and husband, Robert, Gary Smith and John Smith; step-daughter Robyn Schroeder
and husband, Harold; grandchildren, Allison Hutsell and husband, Greg, Brandon Moore,
Heather Smith and husband, Nick; great-grandchildren, Aaron Hutsell, Grace Hutsell,
Gabriel Moore and Gavin; sister, Margaret Ashen and husband, Jesse of Chariton;
and Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services were held in Victory Baptist
Church, Ozark, Mo., Thursday, May 22. Memorial service will be held Sunday, May
25, at Living Word Fellowship, Knoxville. Burial will be in Olive Chapel Cemetery,
Columbia, Iowa, on Sunday, May 25, at 4 p.m.

Baptist Church Mission Fund, Nazarene Church of Branson or the American Cancer Society.
