Funeral services for Robert Gordon Rees, 58, of Knoxville, who
died April 19, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held April 24, 1995, at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville.

Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery with Military Honors. The Rev. Bob Ward officiated at the services. Music was provided by Jim Kidder, organist, and Ted Dykstra Jr. soloist.

Pallbearers were Jim Coe, Gary Hudson, Eldon Dennison, James Bacon, Max Park and Lyle Harvey, Honorary bearers were Howard Zimmerman, Cy Cox, Chuck Galeazzi, Jim Bruinekool, Dennis Fisher, John Buban, Bruno Avon, Mike Bennett, Larry Woods and Benny Hatch.

Robert was born January 15, 1937, in Knoxville, the son of Carl and Frances Rahlf Rees, He attended the Knoxville Schools. He served He attended the Knoxville Schools. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1967.

He worked for the National Steel Company in San Diego for several years building naval ships. When he moved back to Knoxville, he was employed by Ace Lines and Fruehauf Trucking in Des Moines. He has been employed by the 3M Company in Knoxville for the past 15 years. He was a past member or the Knoxville Jaycees.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Paul and Tommy Joe.

He is survived by six daughters, Suzanne Wagner, Tricia Rees, Cheryl Long, all of Knoxville, Wanda Woten of Campbelltown, Scotland, Jessie Leistman of Monroe, and Janet Martenson of Belvidere, Ill; three sisters, Marjory Andrews and Claudean Avon, both of Knoxville, and Nancy Good of Grays Lake, Ill; one brother, Richard of Knoxville; and nine grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Knoxville Rescue Unit.
