Services for Robert Lee DeLong, 57, of Swartz Creek, Mich., who died Sept. 9, 1992, at his home, were Sept. 14, at the Evans-McCleery Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery.
The Rev. Philip Ryan officiated a the service. Music was provided by Jim Kidder and Dr. Gordon M. Amon. Paulbearersnce Woolsey, Tom Nichols, Norm Chrisman, Frank DeJong, Roy Mavin and Gerald Kephart.
Robert was born on Dec. 3, 1934 in Oskaloosa, the son of Forest and Lucille Kingery DeLong. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1952.
He was married to Eunice Wadle on Oct. 10, 1964 in Des Moines.
Robert worked as a Senior Corporate Auditor for the Sherwin Williams Company. He worked in Chicago, Des Moines, Ankeny, Cedar Falls and St. Louis before moving to Swartz Creek, Mich. 13 years ago. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Flint Ostomy Association. He was an avid sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, James. Survivors include his wife of Swartz Creek, Mich.; one daughter Theresa DeLong of Wexom, Mich.; one son, Michael of Hartland, Mich.; one sister, Betty Bishop of Knoxville; nieces; and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of Flint, Mich., Flint Ostomy Association.
