Services for W. Raymond. Woodle 73, of Knoxville, was held Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the First United Methodist Church. Officiating was Rev. K. Wayne Hoehns and Pastor Tim Faris. A private family interment was held at the Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

Music was provided by pianist Jim Kidder and soloist Dawn McKay. Casketbearers were Steven Flanagan, Michael King, Duane Jones, David Shawver, Worth Stevenson, and Donald Vanden Berg.

Mr. Woodle passed away Saturday, February 11, 1989, at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital.

W.R. who was known as Raymond, was born Aug. 10, 1915, to Frank and Anna Snyder in Marion County, Iowa. He married Cathryn E. King on April 29, 1951, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. A son Park Raymond was born to them.

Raymond's livelihood interest and hobby was agriculture, as he farmed south of Knoxville. Especially important to him is the soil conservation of his land.

Raymond was one of several people who organized and later served as a charter member of the Knoxville Farmers Cooperative and the Marion County Rural Water Association.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Marion County Farm Bureau, and the 1.0.0.F. Lodge #90 in Knoxville.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and later by his sister Ruth Kenney, in 1986.

Survivors are his wife, Cathryn, and a son Park, of Knoxville, a niece, Mildred Flanagan of Des Moines, and her children Mrs. Terry (Ruth Arm) Huntrods, Mrs. Gene (Kathleen) Ramsay, and Steven Flanagan.

Memorials have been established for the First United Methodist Church Radio Ministry and the Marion County Hospice.
