Funeral services for Randall Wyman "Randy" McDonald, 45, of Albia, who died Saturday, Dec.
6, 2003 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia, were held Thursday, Dec. 11, at
the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia.
Kelly Bodwell and special speaker,
Tammie Maddy, officiated at the services with Rev. Brian Harris co-officiating.
Interment was at the Oakview Cemetery in Albia. Casket bearers were Gregg, Stan,
Mick and Steve McDonald, Shari Lepley, and Brett Banister. Honorary bearers were
Belinda McDonald, Tammie Maddy, Stanley, Wesley, Trey, Justin, Jenny Jo, Quinn,
Payton and Leanna McDonald, and Kylie and Ashley Lepley.
Randall was born on May
11, 1958, in St. Joseph's Hospital in Joliet, Ill., to Walt Agan and Sally (Banister)
McDonald. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1976. He then worked at 3M
in Knoxville for a few years and later owned and operated Kleenway Sanitation in
Albia.
In junior high and high school he was a boxer. He was an avid bowler, a Little
League umpire, enjoyed fishing, working on V.W. Bugs, and enjoyed spending time
with his family.
He was a member of the Knoxville Regular Baptist Church in Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walt, and his grandparents, Everett and
Marie McDonald and Fred Banister. He is survived by his mother, Sally McDonald of
Albia; four brothers, Stan and Mick McDonald both of Albia, Gregg McDonald of Cody,
Wyo., and Steve McDonald stationed in Germany; a sister, Shari Lepley of Albia;
his maternal grandmother, Florence Banister of Plainfield, Ill.; and a special friend,
Glinda Little of Albia.
An open memorial has been established. Arrangements were
made by Winfield Funeral Home.
