Services for Ralph Harold Brause, 76, of Knoxville, who died of pneumonia Monday, Feb. 24, 1985, at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held Feb. 27 at Williams Funeral Home.
Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
Rev. John Beebout officiated at the services. Music was provided by Darlene Mooberry, organist, and john Crawford, vocalist.
Pallbearers were Richard, Dwayne, and Ronald Betterton and Jeff, Bruce, and Larry Anderson.
Mr. Brause was born Oct. 17, 1909 in Marion County, the son of Frank and Ada Houser Brause. From the age of two he was raised by his Grandmother and Grandfather Houser due to the death of his mother. He attended the Valley School District and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1928.
Following graduation he began working in his father's blacksmith shop and continued there until his retirement in 1978.
On June 18, 1938, he married Tharon Jane Betterton.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was precede in death by his parents, a brother in infancy, and one daughter, Beulah.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Ada) Bacus of Knoxville; three sons, Paul of Gilbert; Howard of Osceola, and Mike of Ames; six grandchildren; one brother, Leland of Tracy; two nieces; three nephews; and one aunt, Grace Gammell of Des Moines.
