Return to Class of 1961

12/31/2022
Paul Edwin Wagner, KHS Class of 1961… grew up in Knoxville, Iowa, had lived in Montana, and recently moved back to Iowa. He suffered for several years from dementia, which progressed to Alzheimer’s.

He was one of those guys with many talents, who could fix or build anything. His 48 Plymouth was a work of art he modified in his father’s garage.

He was a true outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing, and outdoor sports were his passions.

Paul Wagner’s health declined and was in hospice care when he passed away on Dec 31, 2022, New Year’s Eve.

This is a temporary obituary and Arrangements for an August remembrance are being arranged by Hamilton Services in Des Moines.

A wiry and rugged man, the years were no match for his body, which retained its 1965 character to the end. Defeated, the years came to his mind and ultimately won a tenacious battle with him on December 31, 2022.

Paul is survived by his wife, partner, and fellow traveler these past many decades, Taminie; his son Jeff and wife Angela of Dallas, Texas; grandson Alex Wagner of Driggs, Idaho; sister Maxine Jones of Ankeny; and Taminie’s children Myles Curnes of Des Moines and Katie Ramos of Ventura, California. Paul’s remains will spend eternity among the volcanic rocks and snow-capped Carter Mountains at Fenton Pass, Wyoming.
