Paul Francis Hassig, 84, [one week from turning 85] of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Saturday morning, October 29, 2011 surrounded by his loved ones, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls.

Memorial services for Paul F. Hassig will be 10:30 am Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church; 619 Main Street, Iowa Falls with Pastor Carol Meyer officiating.

A time of visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 1st at the Linn’s Funeral Home 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, with a Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Memorial Service to be held at 7:00 pm.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 2116 Beaver Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126.

The Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Paul Francis Hassig was born November 6, 1926, at Newton, Iowa, the son of Mary [Myrick] and Francis Hassig.

He graduated from the Knoxville, Iowa Community Schools. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.

On November 10, 1945, Paul was united in marriage to Norma Lea Conley at Knoxville, Iowa. He was owner and proprietor of Hassig’s OK Tires in Iowa Falls, Iowa for many years.

He was a member on the First United Methodist Church, Iowa Falls; the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge # 1674, Iowa Falls; and Hyman – Peavey American Legion Post # 188, Iowa Falls.

Paul F. Hassig is survived by his wife: Norma Hassig of Iowa Falls; his children: Roger Dwight [Mary] Hassig of Highland Ranch, Colorado, Mike [Mary Weeks] Hassig of Iowa Falls, Kevin Hassig of Clinton Township, Michigan, and Mary Lea [Todd] Blohm of Iowa Falls; twelve grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Francis and Mary Hassig; a daughter: Jane Ann Modlin; and a grandson: Dustin Hassig.
