Funeral services for E. Paul “Slick” Clark, 90, of Knoxville, who died June 8, were
held June 10, 1997, at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial was at
Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

The Rev. Leon Hodges officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mildred Brooks,
organist. Pallbearers were Jim Onstank, John Caswell, Francis Davis, Arden Graves,
Ron Sockriter, and Charles Walter.

Masonic services were held June 9 at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home, conducted by
Oriental Lodge #61, A.F.&A.M.

Paul was born January 31, 1907, in Marion County, the son of Charles and Kathleen
Bittenbender Clark. He lived his entire life in Knoxville.

He was united in marriage to Johanna Piater on May 28, 1940, in Des Moines. He was
a mail carrier for 30 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the
American Legion, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Temple of Des Moines, and a 50-year member of
Oriental Lodge #61, and Royal Arch Masons Tad Mor Chapter 18.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two sisters, Francis Halbfoss,
and Esther Neagle.

He is survived by several Nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, and ZaGa-Zig Shrine.
